The largest airport in Switzerland, Zurich-Kloten, will get a new boss. Stephan Widrig, who has been at the helm of the airport for eight years, has announced his resignation. The Board of Directors WILL shortly initiate the search for a successor.
« After almost 15 years on the management board of Flughafen Zürich AG and in my ninth year as CEO, it makes sense to me to pass on the management team. The timing is good because all business areas are in stable and competent hands, the pandemic is well under way and the strategic focus for the next year is clear. Zurich Airport is a unique place and Flughafen Zürich AG is a fantastic company with which I will always have very close ties, » says the outgoing Airport Director.
The manager has held various positions at Zurich Airport for 23 years. He has been a member of the management board for 15 years and has been the chairman of the board for eight years. From May 2023, Stephan Widrig will be CEO of Allreal Holding AG, one of the largest listed real estate companies in Switzerland. He will therefore leave Flughafen Zürich AG at the end of April 2023. The Board of Directors WILL now initiate the process of determining a successor.
