Lufthansa does not only seem to be concerned with providing updates on the flight, but also mentions in the media release that « suitable offers through push notifications » should be provided. This indicates that they want to open up an additional sales channel.
With the launch of the new Lufthansa app, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa and Swiss are using a joint app solution. It is now available in the Apple App Store for iOS from version 14 and in the Google Play Store for Android from version 5.
