As part of a charter flight, Norse Atlantic Airways landed a Boeing 787-9 at Troll Airfield, located in Antarctica, for the first time. This is also the first type landing of this pattern.
The machine with the registration LN-FNC was in use. This will happen on November 15, 2023 at 2:01 a.m. local time on the Eternal Ice. The client for this special flight was the Norwegian Polar Institute. Equipment and 45 researchers were hidden on board the machine.
On November 13, 2023, the Dreamliner set off from Oslo. A stopover of around 40 hours was made in Cape Town. On Wednesday, the long-haul jet took off at 11:03 p.m. local time for Antarctica. The LN-FNC could then be used safely there. Norse Atlantic Airways is extremely proud to have operated this charter flight,
